Buy HTC Desire XC online for Rs. 16,249
Finally HTC Desire XC has made its first appearance in Indian market. This phone was announced back during June 2012 but finally after approx 1 year, it is available in Indian market. Desire XC was first spotted on Snapdeal where it is listed with a little specs variation. The original specs (which were announced during its launch) and the specs which Snapdeal is showing are different.
I think you should go with original specs as there might be some errors from Snapdeal end. So Desire XC is launched for Rs. 16,249 with a dual core processor. In Indian market, this price slot is covered by Quad core phablets from Micromax, Xolo etc. Now it would be interesting to watch, up to where this dual core smartphone will stand against quad core phablets.
HTC Desire XC specs
Here I’m jotting down specs from both the sources i.e. Snapdeal and official. Wherever there will be some variations I will mention them here. So XC houses a 4 inch super LCD screen with 800x480 pixels WVGA resolution. I am wondering where this resolution will take them. In India, lots of phablets are there (at same price tag) which offers full HD resolution. But sadly HTC is coming with 800x480 pixels resolution which is not good at all. Further it runs on Android 4.0 ICS OS which is rarely seen in new gadgets now. By seeing competition, I think they should have upgraded it to Android 4.1 or 4.2 Jellybean but sadly they are sticking with that old ICS environment. It is powered by a Qualcomm dual core processor having 768 MB ROM. Again they are lacking somewhere at RAM part. All the specs which we have discussed so far are really dull and do not give the buyer even a single point to go for it.
Its internal memory is limited to 4GB which is quite similar to other gadgets. It can further be extended through SD card. It comes with a 5 MP rear camera with no flash (according to Snapdeal) but if you carefully look the image screenshot then you will find LED flash with camera there. It lacks a front facing camera which means no face to face chatting. It comes with a BSI sensor which somewhere improves camera’s performance.
It supports 2G/3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, BT connectivity features. All these features are very common and are there in Rs. 10K gadget even. Further it is equipped with a 1650 mAh battery which is again a disappointment.
Price and availability
HTC Desire XC is listed on Snapdeal online store. From there you can buy it for Rs. 16,249 starting price. They even offer the facility for 3 months and 6 months EMIs and delivers product in maximum 3 working days (depending upon your location). You can buy it online from here.
Final words
Indian tech market is a price oriented market (at least 70-80%). Here every user wants to use every fraction of their money. HTC has played a game by launching dual core smartphone at a price which is already flooded with Android 4.2 JB full HD phablets like Micromax A116 etc. Choice is completely yours but according to me you should go for quad core phablets rather than this ICS dual core smartphone.
