Update Samsung Galaxy S3 with Crystal Android 4.4.2 KitKat ROM

Samsung Galaxy S3 has received the love from custom developers in form of Crystal ROM based on Android 4.4.2 firmware. Few days back, it was the device which received testing Android 4.4.3 custom ROM but unfortunately it went on a miss and was stuffed with lot of major bugs. Nevertheless they can now try and install this highly feature stuffed Android 4.4.2 KitKat based ROM on their smartphones. According to developers, it is going to enhance the overall performance of Galaxy S3 in terms of better speed and utilizations. It will optimize all the concerned resources as a part of system processing and will make some noticeable changes in the entire framework. Hopefully this ROM will deliver all that is claimed by its developers.

It comes from un-official sources (which means it might have some bugs and neither we nor Samsung holds the liability of any sort of damages after having it live on your smartphone) so it is advised to follow some pre-requisites before the main process. Please make sure that you have made a proper backup of entire system (including call logs, messages and other important stuff) before proceeding with the main tutorial.

Crystal Android KitKat ROM installation for Samsung Galaxy S3

This ROM can be installed with usual guide i.e. by booting to Recovery mode and installing it with simple instructions (don’t worry I am going to explain everything here). Here is the complete guide:

1. Download the Crystal ROM on to your computer.
2. With help of USB cable, move this downloaded ROM file to mobile database. If possible then place it in internal SD card of Galaxy S3.
3. Now boot your Galaxy S3 to Recovery Mode and follow these instructions.

How to Boot S3 into Recovery Mode:
Switch OFF your smartphone and turn it ON with Home + Power + Vol. Up keys combination. Once you will be in Recovery mode, you will have to use Vol. Rocker keys for navigation (up-down) and Power key for selection. If you find this step bit confusing then you can try automated apps like ROM Manager (from Play Store) which can help you booting your smartphone to Recovery mode in automated ways.

After following the entire instructions please reboot your smartphone and visit the Settings>>About Phone menu. If it shows Android 4.4.2 KitKat version there then that means you have successfully applied all the instructions. In other case, please repeat the entire tutorial once again.
