XXAMF2 Android 4.1.2 ROM for Samsung Galaxy Grand

Samsung Galaxy Grand’s firmware is now updated and user can update Galaxy Grand with latest XXAMF2 Android 4.1.2 Firmware/ROM. This firmware is developed especially for Indian models (which are already unlocked) but still it can be used with all Galaxy Grand pieces having I9020 model number.

This official firmware updates the previous features by addressing its battery and overheating problems. It is a minor software update which mainly focuses on above mentioned problems (battery and overheating). Rest all specs are almost similar. So this ROM update will improve our Grand’s backup and will secure it from overheating problems.

This is an official ROM so it will not void your warranty but still it would be really good if you follow all these pre-requisites. There is no OTA method for this firmware upgrade so you will have to update it manually. Please don’t try it if your phone is locked. You need to unlock your phone for having this firmware manually.

How to
Rather giving all the instructions one by one, I have divided the complete instruction set in two parts. These two parts are divided on a sequential base and you need to go through each and every part for this ROM update. At first, please read both the parts without doing anything (simple reading). It will help you understanding the main update process completely.

PART I
Download these files to your computer:
• XXAMF2Firmware kit
• Odin
Extract both the files after downloading them.

Part II
This part deals with main root level instructions. This manual ROM can be flashed using Odin tool. It is a simple tool which can be used by beginner’s eve but still if you have the option to upgrade your phone in presence of some Android expert, then please don’t miss that chance. Galaxy Grand Download Mode Booting
Odin tool works only with download mode. So you will have to boot your Galaxy rand to download mode first. To do so, first turn OFF your Grand and then press and hold Power + Vol. Down + Home keys together. Home key is the middle button on your Galaxy Grand. It will boot you to download mode from where you can use Odin further.
