Nokia 301 with 2.4 inch screen launched for Rs. 5,149: a report

Nokia has launched a candy bar entry level phone Nokia 301. So Nokia is still with that oldie hardware which was very popular once. But sadly that was history. Come on Nokia please opt new interfaces else people are hardly going to go for those old candy bar phones.

Yesterday I read one report in which it was said that Nokia is now focusing on phablets. I was so happy that one of my favorite company is finally trying something new. But today with Nokia 301 I am again sad. Here I am going to discuss Nokia 301 specs which are wrapped with Nokia trust at top.

Nokia 301 features
N 301 houses a 2.4 inch screen with 320x240 pixel screen resolution. They have used S40 series operating stem which is again an old version. I don’t know where this 2.4 inch 240x320 pixel screen will stand against wide screen mobiles at similar price tag. This mobile is pretty similar to the old Nokia candy bar phones. Looks wise it resembles Nokia 3110.

It is a dual SIM dual standby phone which gives capturing option with its 3.2 MP AF f2.8 rear camera. Its camera is its striking feature which is pre-loaded with high end options like Panorama mode shooting and 3-5 fps capture speed. It comes with 64 MB RAM, 256 MB internal and 32 GB (expandable) external memory. Nokia has introduced a mobile with 64 MB RAM in the era where most of the mobiles carries at least 512 MB RAM (at similar price). But by seeing other specs (OS and screen) I think it is sufficient.

It is a 3G mobile which supports Bluetooth and USB slot. 3.5 mm audio jack, FM radio are other connectivity options. It is equipped with 1200 mAh battery which doesn’t match its price at all. I think it is the high time for Nokia to switch to current market. They should invest more in Lumina series or they should try to launch low priced Windows mobiles. It will help them surviving the current market + it will also enable low price range seekers to try Window phones.

Price and availability
Price of Nokia 301 is set to Rs. 5,149 initial tag. You can buy it from online or offline store with similar tag. It is launched with two color variants, white and black.

Final words
Rs. 5,000+ for a 2.4 inch, 64 MB RAM? I think it’s not worth spending at all. If you carefully study tech market then this price slot is filled with devices having 3.5 inch+, 1 GB RAM, front + rear camera devices with better OS even. But still N 301 comes with Nokia trust which makes it a very rough and tough machine. So it is completely your choice whether you want a rough and tough device or you want to go for a high end (feature wise) mobile.
