[Tutorial] How to root, un-root Micromax A88 Canvas Music

Few days back, Micromax has unveiled a music dedicated smartphone A88 Canvas Music. This smartphone combines all music platforms under one roof. The Canvas series of Micromax has really done wonders for the company. It is the series which holds the potential to threat big firms like Samsung, Sony etc even. Also MMX is smart enough to launch timely gadgets with need of hour specs.

Micromax A88 though is a music dedicated phone but it too is stuffed with high end specs like all other Canvas machines. It flaunts a 4.5 inch capacitive screen with Android 4.1.2 Jellybean OS and 1.2 GHz Dual core processor.

Prior moving any further let me brief some important things. This rooting will void your A88’s warranty fully so you will not be able to ask for any type of help from MMX service centers. Also it might put your phone in some risks (very rare chances) for which neither me nor MMX is held responsible. You can avoid all such risks by strictly following all the rooting instructions carefully.

Now let me talk about the brighter sight. Rooting will issue you extra privileges by using which you can manually customize your Canvas Music. You might have seen some Android Apps which seems very interesting but requires rooted phones. This rooting will allow you to use all those types of apps. Further rooting will make you liable of trying and flashing new custom ROM updates (like Android 4.2 JB) when they will be available. So indeed rooting is a useful step which upgrades all the things completely.

How to root MMX A88
I am going to discuss Bin4ry tool here. Bin4ry tool has proved a blessing for all medium level firms like Micromax, Karbonn etc. It roots machines very easily with some very simple steps. Before opting for the main procedure, please follow these pre-requisites. These will secure your A88 from various accidental threats. Now follow below listed steps as it is:
1. Download rooting kit and Drivers to your computer. Extract rooting kit using some proper extractor software.
2. Now take the original USB chord and connect your A88 to your computer. Change the USB Storage to Media Device (you will get this option there).
3. Now go to the extracted folder and open RunMe.bat file.
4. It will open a prompt window where you will be asked for inputting some options. Press 1 here.
5. Now rooting process will start and will take around 2-3 minutes for completion. At the end you will be prompted about successful rooting automatically.

Now remove the USB Chord and start enjoying all rooted privileges. You can check rooting status from “Root Checker App” from Play Store.

How to un-root
It is a complicated step which works rarely but you can still give a try. So to un-root your MMX A88 Music, follow 1-3 steps as it is. Now in 4th step, press 0 or x instead of 1. It will un-root your A88. However as I said earlier that it is a complicated step so please don’t expect much about un-rooting section.
