How To: Official Android 4.1.2 ZO54K based update for Samsung Galaxy Ace 2
Samsung has started rolling official Android 4.1 Jellybean update for Galaxy Ace2. Here I am going to cover every detail about this official ROM update. The update is in its first phase so it will be available for selected regions (very limited) only. This official ROM is based on ZO54K firmware.
This ROM is stuffed with all the standard Jellybean features which could enhance your phone’s overall performance (I’m going to share features in remaining part of the article).
Currently this ROM is rolled out in Portugal only. I think it will be ported for India in coming few weeks. Samsung is going to roll this update officially so you don’t need to worry about your region. It might take some weeks (even months) but be assured as you will surely get this latest ROM for your phone.
Talking about the phone, then it houses a 3.8 inches 480x800 pixel screen which runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. It is powered by a dual core 800MHz processor which is supported through 768MB RAM. In a nutshell, it comes with attractive powerful overall features.
Features
This ROM is equipped with all standard JB features. First of all as it is official update so it comes with very less bugs (however some might be there). Moreover you can apply it on your un-rooted phone. It comes with following features:
• New TouchWiz interface
• Improved notification menu
• Less bugs
• Battery life improved
• Gesture typing
• New Google widget
• Overall improved features
How to apply?
This official ROM is rolled out through Over The Air method so you don’t need to worry about any tough manual methods. This ROM can be applied either through KIES or through OTA method.
Till now it is limited to Portugal only but whenever it will hit your region, you will automatically receive one update notification. You just need to follow all the onscreen instructions.
What if no notification is received?
If you are not receiving any update related notification then that means that the update is not rolled in your region yet. In case your friends (in the same area) has received update notification but not you then you can head further to Settings>>About phone>>Check for update path. It will search for all the updates manually. But still if you are not getting any update notification then you can contact your nearest Samsung service center for official information.
