Report: Lava Iris 502 launched with single core processor, JB and much more

Lava is going through some awesome program under which they are launching smartphone’s every week. Last week they came with Iris 454 which was a mediocre phone with average specs. For this week I predicted Lava to come with Iris 430 (as it they were indicating it through their official portal). My prediction went wrong and here Lava has shocked everyone with their new gadget. Dubbed as Lava Iris 502 it comes with very similar specs like all other Lava products. They are missing somewhere in variety products (not talking about this phone, I’m talking about their previous smartphones). Means what is the need of launching more than one smartphone with same processor, operating system and almost all other features and that too at similar price tag. Hope Lava has something different in their approach and I wish them good luck with their experiment. Now let me take you to the tour of complete specs if Lava Iris 502.

Lava Iris 502 specs

It flaunts a wide 5 inch screen with WVGA display giving 480x800 pixels resolution and supporting capacitive touch response. Screen wise it is a nice smartphone whose specs are all according to price set. It runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean surface which supports all default JB features like butter project display, unique keyboard support, advanced apps, better smoothness, fluidity etc. To everyone’s surprise, Iris 502 comes with single core 1GHz processor having 512 MB RAM and unknown GPU support. Be very frank, please don’t go for this smartphone, rather increase your budget to small bit and search other products of Lava or Micromax. You will easily find dual core gadgets in market (at similar price tag).

It comes with a 5MP rear back and VGA front facing camera. You can use this phone over face chatting apps like Skype or default 3G chat. It comes with 2GB internal memory slot whose space can be increased to 32GB by using a standard sd card. Again 2GB is nothing when compared with other gadgets at similar price tag.

It supports all connectivity options like Wi-Fi, BT, USB and houses a 2000 mAh battery which is a good thing finally.

According to me you should not spend this much money on a single core processor. Please search for other Lava products in similar price range. Otherwise you may go for Micromax A110 Canvas 2 which is an amazing smartphone under Rs 10K cost.
