Official Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for Motorola Droid Ultra, Maxx and Mini smartphones


An unexpected thing has happened at Motorola labs all around the world. They were planning an Android 4.4.3 update for most of their smartphones but unfortunately it got panelised by some sort of serious bug as a result of which they have/had to suspend all their activity related to Android 4.4.3 update. But nevertheless they have decided to make a fresh start with developing Android 4.4.4 KitKat for most of their devices. It was the high time when most of the Moto users were eagerly waiting for Android 4.4.3 update but according to official sources they are going to skip it this time. In the mean time they will start putting efforts towards Android 4.4.4 KitKat now. No doubt it is going to take time but at the end (when they will launch it) user will enjoy a whole new experience of latest techniques and latest software features.

In the official message, Motorola officials have regretted all the users for pausing their activities with Android 4.4.3 development. According to them they had to wait for the official announcement of 4.4.4 KK as a serious security related bug was discovered by OpenSSL in their Android 4.4.3 update. Now they will fix that bug with upcoming Android 4.4.4 KK update. Because of timely detection of this major bug they have/had to respun their entire activity (it requires re-submission, re-testing from various development labs). However they will again enter the lab with plans for upcoming Android 4.4.4 KitKat update. If everything goes well then they will start development right from next week.

There are no details about how much time will it take to come up with the final update but most likely it will take around 2-3 months (for global coverage). Talking about present situations then devices like Moto X, G and E has already started receiving Android 4.4.3 update. The next update will be launched for other remaining devices that include Moto Droid, Maxx and Mini versions.

When Motorola will launch Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update

No one except Motorola itself can assist you on this part. We can only make predictions which might prove to be a rumour in coming days. The kind of words/approach that Motorola has used in official message seems to be attacking and we can hope them to launch official KitKat just after Google roll that out for Nexus devices.
