Samsung Galaxy 6.3 VS Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8: point to point comparison

Here I am going to compare two biggest screen sized smartphones by Samsung. Samsung is the only mobile brand that has the guts to test smartphones with such huge screen sizes. The smartphones which I am going to compare here are Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3. Like all other Samsung phones, both comes with varying features that gives good option to all users out there.

Here I am going to compare both the mobiles on different aspects. Not to forget that the price difference between both is Rs. 7,000 approx. I will consider this price point during the final decision.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 VS Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8

I have compared specifications of both the files in form of an image. You can yourself see the difference from this image:

Now I am manually comparing both mobiles on basis on individual features.

Screen

Screen wise, both the mobiles are packed with bigger size than usual. Usually mobile devices are developed up to 5 inch max. But scenario is somewhat different here. Mega 5.8 houses 5.8 inch screen that is topped with a TFT display with 540x960 pixels resolution and 190 ppi density. On the other side, Mega 6.3 comes with a 6.3 inches screen with 720x1280 pixels resolution, SC-LCD display and 233 ppi density. Be very frank, Mega 6.3 wins here with a considerable gap.

OS and processor

OS wise, both the mobiles runs on same environment i.e. Android 4.2.2 Jellybean. Now it will be interesting to note for which device Samsung will push 4.3 update first. But for now, both mobiles scores equal on OS aspect.

Talking about processor, then both the mobiles are equipped with quality processors that are ready to provide high class multi-tasking experience. But if we compare both then Mega 6.2 again wins over Mega 5.8 with 1.7 GHz Krait processor.

Camera and memory

On both these front, both mobiles scores equal. Both are carved with very equal quality cameras and memory chips. So both are the winner here.

Connectivity

Connectivity wise, Mega 6.3 leads 5.8 with NFC (Near Filed Communication) technology. But don’t worry; Mega 5.8 too comes with all required connectivity tools. It is wrapped with enough tools that you need for regular use.

Battery and price

Mega 6.3 comes with a powerful battery than 5.8. So Mega 6.3 again wins here. Galaxy Mega 6.3 retails at Rs. 30,000 approx whereas Mega 5.8 retails at Rs. 22,850. You can clearly see that both come with a considerable price difference that could change the entire game here.

Final Conclusion

From above discussion, it is clear that Mega 6.3 completely rules Mega 5.8 with plethora of high end features. If you go for Mega 6.3 then you will get better screen, connectivity, powerful battery and high end software features like Air-View, S Beam etc. But remember it will demand you to have a bigger pocket with price as well as dimension point of view.

On the other side, if your budget is somewhat less but still you want to handy smartphone, then you should go for Galaxy Mega 5.8.
