New Gmail inbox launched for Android and iOS: complete features

Gmail has made some new changes to its Inbox interface. The new Inbox comes with some unique features which filters messages according to various parameters. If you are a regular Gmail user then you might have received/seen a message from Gmail team. In that message they said that they have updated the old interface and new interface bring ease of read and advanced filtration.

New Gmail inbox features

In the official message, they have discussed everything. However here I am elaborating them more clearly. So the new features are:

1. Inbox Tab
It is quite similar to old interface. It will pop up all the mails and you can decide which mail you want to read when. You can get in touch with your complete Gmail activity through this Inbox tab.

2. Categories for prioritization
This time they have added 5 categories in which you can differentiate your mails. The 5 categories are as following:
• Primary
• Social
• Promotions
• Updates
• Forums

These categories are very similar to a priority system where you can arrange various tasks according to their priority. You can use Primary category for important messages, Forums for less important mails and like this. These categories will filter the complete inbox which will eventually make your Gmail faster and easier.

3. Fully customizable
The new Gmail Inbox is fully customizable. If you have placed a message in wrong category then you can anytime shift that particular message between all categories. All you need to do is it to drag and drop the message. For example, if you want to move mail from Primary category to Social, then you can very easily do it by dragging that message from Primary and dropping that in Social category.

4. Available on Android and iOS too
This new Gmail inbox is ported to two major mobile platforms Android and iOS. You will receive this update automatically if you are using official Gmail apps on both the platforms. In case you are using Gmail from some third party app then you need to download the official one from respective stores.
