Aakash 4 complete features and price detail

Remembered Aakash tablets? A couple of years ago, Government was claiming that they are going to developed a very low cost (even world’s cheapest) tablet for students. They opened online bookings, pre-bookings etc and all was a big hit. But very sadly all went in vain when it came to delivery part. Don’t know for whom they developed that or how may receive that tablet. I too booked that tablet but I haven’t received that yet and frankly saying then I don’t want that now.

After a complete flop show by all Aakash tablets, Government is again planning to launch its next version Aakash 4. Till now very rough and raw level data about this tablet is known and I am going to jot down all that here.

This time IIT Madras is going to develop this tablet. Like previous machines, it will also have to undergo through Government tenders with 3537 Antutu benchmark.

Aakash 4 features
Similar to previous pieces, it will too house a 7 inch screen with 800x480 pixels resolution very probably. It might be powered by a single or dual core processor with 1 GHz clock and 1 GB RAM. There are some rumors that it will come with dual coot option having Android and Ubuntu OS into play. If this rumor goes true then it will surely create some high note buzz in Indian tech market. Dual boot option will give users the freedom to choose between complete different environments. On Android part, it may have 4.2 Jellybean inside.

It night have 4 GB ROM which can be extended to 16 or 32 GB. It will have a minimum VGA front facing camera which can shoot still images only.

On the connectivity front, it will boast main connectivity tools like Wi-Fi, USB etc. It will too have the option to access 3G internet through USB dongle. It might have an average battery with 3-4 hours backup.

Price and availability
Aakash 4 price after undergoing various subsidy sections for student is Rs. 3,000 (according to reports) and in commercial market it may bear a price tag in range Rs. 4,000-5000.

Final words
Aakash 4 seems to a legit tablet with good specs but the main question is about its delivery. Whether company will repeat its previous performance or they will improve it. Aakash 4 is supposed to come with 4G connectivity option. In case it will house such high speed connectivity tool, it will surely hit all online/offline stores with a huge boom (however it is only a rumor). All in all Aakash 4 is equipped with quality specs (according to reports) but company will have to improve their delivery department.
