How to use HDR Camera Mode in CyanogenMod (CM) 10.1 devices

Good news for all CyanogenMod users. Now onwards, CM10.1 based Android 4.2 users can use Nexus 4 standardized HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode in their pre-default camera’s. HDR camera mode is the latest major technology which is being added in CyanogenMod ROMs. Just to compensate the non-availability of latest ROMs to non-nexus device, many big firms are now using CM10.1 environment which always keeps them entertained with latest ROMs. Though CyanogenMod is known for its world class features and high end technologies but improving their stock CM camera to HDR surely adds some more stars in their overall glory. Prior to HDR, they were using still CM camera app as their stock camera. This camera was also good especially with still images. Here in this article I am going to discuss about all the short concepts of HDR camera which will include its importance and some tips by using which you can capture world class images.

What is HDR camera mode and how it can change CM10.1 based ROMs
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and it is basically a camera mode which captures images with high quality and expandable features. It shots 3 continuous images in three categories:

• Minimum
• Neutral
• Maximum

After capturing all the shots it combines all of them to form a single image. It is trademark of Nexus 4 smartphone. It was the feature in Nexus 4 which received lots of positive reviews from many critics. It can produce wonders provided you know all the guidelines about how to use it. In case if you misses somewhere with HDR mode then you will hit ground with all your images. So here I am giving some important tips which can help you with HDR mode in your mobile’s camera:
• All HDR captured images are super sensitive to vibrations. So better to use some solid stand for capturing still images. If you don’t have any particular solid or tripod stand then please do some practice of stabilizing your hand moments.

• In HDR mode, speed matters a lot. As you captures three continuous images which will later embed in one single image, so you need to be care about your speed. If your camera comes with poor shutter speed then very sadly you will not be able to use this mode to utmost.

• Never capture images with similar objects means don’t go for duplicates rather go for original shoots with different objects every time.
